High Density Polyethylene Geocell (HDPE Geocell)

HDPE Geocell is a lightweight and flexible three-dimensional expandable panel made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) strips. These strips are ultrasonically welded together to create a strong, durable honeycomb structure.

The width of each long strip defines the height of the geocell, while the distance between two welding lines on the same side of the panel (when not expanded) is called the welding distance.

Zhonglu Geocell features a three-dimensional honeycomb design manufactured from HDPE and welded using ultrasonic techniques. Its flexibility allows it to be easily folded for transport and installation on-site. Once expanded into a web-like structure, the geocell is filled with soil, granular materials, cement, or other on-site infill. This creates a robust confinement system that provides excellent lateral and vertical stability.

Load Support

Cellular Confinement Systems have been used to improve the performance of both paved and unpaved roads by reinforcing the soil in the subgrade-base interface or within the base course. The effective load distribution of geocell creates a strong,stiff 3D cellular mattress which can reduce vertical differential settlement into soft subgrades, improves shear strength, and enhances load-bearing capacity, while reducing the amount of aggregate material required to extend the service life of roads.
