3D Erosion Control Mat, also known as a three-dimensional vegetation net, is a multi-layered geosynthetic material made from thermoplastic resin through processes such as extrusion, stretching, and lamination. It features a loose and porous structure that leaves up to 90% open space, allowing it to be filled with soil, sand, or gravel. This design enables plant roots to penetrate and grow freely, promoting deep root anchorage and effective vegetation establishment.
Before the turf fully grows, the 3D mat acts as a protective layer to prevent surface erosion and stabilize seeds. Once vegetation is established, the mat, roots, and soil form a solid composite layer that can resist high-velocity water flows and heavy rainfall. This makes it an ideal eco-friendly alternative to traditional slope protection materials such as concrete, asphalt, or stone.
