Steel-Plastic Composite Geogrid for Soil Reinforcement
The steel-plastic composite geogrid is manufactured from specially treated high-strength steel wire combined with polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP) and additives through an extrusion process to form composite high-tensile strips. These strips are reinforced by a warp and weft braided high-strength steel wire mesh, delivering a very high tensile modulus under pre-tensioned strain.
The vertical and horizontal ribs work together to maximize the locking effect between the geogrid and the soil, enhancing stability and load distribution. The plastic surface is processed with a compressed rough pattern, increasing surface roughness and significantly improving the friction coefficient with soil.
Additionally, this geogrid offers excellent resistance to acids and various chemical substances, making it highly durable for demanding soil reinforcement applications such as retaining walls, embankments, and landfill sites.
Steel-plastic geogrid is widely used in soft soil foundation projects such as roads, railways, dams and ports, as well as high retaining wall works.
