Steel-plastic composite geogrid is made by extruding high-strength steel wires-after special surface treatment-together with polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP) and functional additives to form high-strength tensile strips. These strips are then woven or welded into a biaxial grid structure.

The geogrid features high tensile modulus under pre-tensioned strain due to the strength of the steel wires arranged in both warp and weft directions. The vertical and horizontal ribs work together to create a strong interlocking effect with the surrounding soil, significantly improving soil reinforcement.

During production, the plastic surface is textured through a compression process to enhance surface roughness. This increases the friction coefficient between the geogrid and soil, further improving stability and load transfer.

Steel-plastic geogrids also offer excellent resistance to acids and a wide range of chemical agents, making them suitable for complex soil environments and long-term engineering applications.
