HDPE/PP uniaxial geogrid is manufactured using high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP) as the raw material. The production process involves plasticizing the polymer into a sheet, followed by precision punching, heating, and longitudinal stretching to form a uniaxially oriented grid with a regular aperture pattern. This stretching significantly improves tensile strength in the machine direction.
Uniaxial geogrids are typically installed within soil layers, where the interlocking action between the grid apertures and the surrounding soil forms an efficient stress transfer mechanism.
